Whilst at The City Dogs Home in May 2019 my attention was brought to a small older terrier who was looking very scared in his kennel. After talking gently to him he gingerly came to the bars for a fuss, seeing all those beautiful dogs, each one hoping that it would be them that you took home with you and the sadness in their eyes as you passed their kennel, their hopes dashed again, was quite heart breaking. Some of them would be lucky and would end up in a kind home but there were also the ones who, as is sadly the case in every rescue centre, would never have someone to take them home and give them what every dog deserves, a kind and loving home, I would have taken them all no matter what their breed, size, age or colour. I couldn’t stop thinking about the little terrier and needless to say he came to live with the other residents at GGO&F. As I write this little Badger, as I called him, is fast asleep on my Mum’s bed, the bedroom door is always left ajar so that Badger can go in and out as he pleases so needlesss to say he is very contented here. He has several issues which, with time and patience he is overcoming, another reason that I am so glad that he came here as he may not have found the right home and the right understanding.
