JEREMY & JAMES

Jeremy & James

JEREMY & JAMES (were Tom & Jerry, they are quite regal and so I thought James, which is a Kings name, also Jeremy befits too). They are two gorgeous and gentle Anglo Nubian X goats who came to us on 24th August 2019.  Two or so years ago a group of people from Leek were wanting to set up a farm animal rescue and asked if they could visit us for help and advice, I’m pleased to say that they went on to found Footprints. Whilst visiting they asked about the goats and I explained to them that initial costs, e.g. protecting trees and suitable fencing so that they can’t get their heads stuck is extremely costly as is ongoing maintenance for the goats. They decided that they would try to help animals like sheep and pigs etc and so I mentioned to them that if ever they needed to rehome any goats we would try and help and so James & Jeremy came via Footprints. Their owners had bought them as kids from someone who told them that they were Pygmy goats, the accommodation that they had would have been ok for two small goats as they were let into the garden in the evening but James & Jeremy kept growing, when they are standing on their hind legs they are taller than me! I found the family who owned them to be very caring but a ‘facebook campaign’ against them had, I think, got out of hand and so Footprints asked the family if the goats could come to us. James & Jeremy have fitted in perfectly and follow you like lambs which means to me they that have only known kindness. They are pictured with some of our other goats.
